Stu Cameron, Principal Stu Cameron is in his sixth year as Principal of Imlay City High School. As the Principal, he is responsible for providing leadership, direction and focus at the high school. Stu maintains a strong vision for the success of all Imlay City students as well as for excellence in each phase of their education. Stu has served Imlay City Community Schools in several different capacities over the past 16 years. He began his career at Imlay City Middle School working with At-Risk students, then teaching 7th grade Mathematics and Language Arts. During this time, he was able to experience coaching, curriculum work and perform in a variety of leadership positions within the building. From 1999 to 2002, Stu served as the Dean of Students at the Middle School, and in 2003 became the Principal of Borland Elementary. After three very rewarding years as Principal at Borland, he left to become Principal of the High School. Since 2009, Stu has performed the duties of Principal at Venture High School as well. Stu is a graduate of Central Michigan University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in 1995. He holds endorsements in Secondary English Education and as a Secondary Reading Specialist. In 1998, he completed a Master’s degree in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College in Detroit, and in December of 2006, earned a Specialist’s degree in School Administration and Leadership from Eastern Michigan University. On a personal note, Stu grew up in the Flint area, and attended Grand Blanc schools. Currently, he and his wife, Kirsten, and son, Graham, live in Davison, MI.
