Venture High School Administration
Dean of Students Let me take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Mr. Barraco and I am the Dean of Students/Principal at Venture High School. Throughout my career and life, I bring a wide variety of experience to this position. I am a native of Lapeer and I graduated from Lapeer West High School. After high school, I accepted an athletic scholarship (football) to Huron University in South Dakota, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and a Masters Degree in Business Management in 2001. I spent a lot of time in College working with at-risk youth and realized the passion I had for helping kids become successful. I returned to Michigan and began a career as a Juvenile Probation Officer with the Lapeer County Family Court. I also serve as a certified Police Officer in the State of Michigan. Furthermore, I decided to return to my alma mater to coach football and wrestling where I am still a coach today. During this time, I served as an adjunct instructor for Davenport University, teaching college courses in Business and Psychology. I am in the process of finishing up my second Masters Degree in Education. I have a true passion for working with at risk youth. My philosophy is a "strict yet fair" approach to helping students succeed in achieving not only their high school diploma, but also to prepare them for what the real world will bring once they leave. Finally, Parents, if I can being of any assistance to you while your student attends Venture High School, please call me. For any future students that are interested in gaining your education, please call or stop in. Thank you,
Mr. Todd Barraco Dean of Students
